Back up your Vimeo library

Connect once and your Vimeo library becomes a searchable, brandable archive that survives any Vimeo subscription change, syncing itself hourly from then on.

Vimeo plans change, prices change, and libraries built over a decade deserve a copy that answers to you. The backup pulls your whole Vimeo library into a HoldFast project: tracked, searchable, brandable, and independent of what Vimeo does next.

Set it up

1. Go to Settings, then Backups.
2. Click Connect Vimeo and complete the sign-in.
3. Pick a destination project where the videos should land.
4. Click Back up my library. Discovery and the first sync start in the background.

What comes over

All videos in your Vimeo library, with the original folder structure preserved, plus titles, descriptions, and dates. For each video, HoldFast fetches the original master when Vimeo makes it available, and the best streaming-quality copy otherwise.

What happens after the first run

HoldFast checks Vimeo every hour and pulls new videos automatically, so the backup stays current without a thought from you. During the initial run you get progress emails at 25%, 50%, and 100%.

Backed-up videos count toward your storage like any upload. If the quota fills mid-sync, the sync pauses and emails you; nothing already imported is touched.

If some items fail

Certain videos cannot come over automatically (privacy settings, deleted sources, expired sign-ins). The Backups page groups them by cause and says which are retryable: the full triage is in Fix Vimeo backup failures.
