Troubleshooting

There's a lock icon on a feature

What the gold chip means, which plan unlocks what, and why the control stays visible instead of vanishing.

Updated

A gold PRO or TEAM chip on a greyed-out control means the feature belongs to a higher plan than your workspace is on. Nothing is broken and nothing needs support: upgrading from Settings → Billing unlocks it on the spot.

What you're seeing

A setting you want to switch on renders greyed out, with a small uppercase gold chip naming a plan. Common places: password and expiry on a review link, custom branding, watermarks, the email gate on a presentation, embedding, and the API.

Why it happens

HoldFast's Free plan is a real working plan rather than a trial, and paid features stay visible instead of vanishing, so you can always see what an upgrade actually adds. The chip names the exact plan that unlocks the control. Pro covers the sharing controls: passwords and expiry, download control, custom branding, watermarks, email gates on presentations, embeds, and API access. Team adds the workspace-wide layer: a custom domain, full white label, and the website gallery.

Fix it

  1. Ask a workspace admin to open Settings → Billing and move to the plan named on the chip.
  2. Expected result: the control unlocks everywhere as soon as billing confirms the change, typically within seconds. Refresh the page if a chip lingers.

There is no per-feature purchase: one plan change unlocks everything at that tier at once, across review links, reels, and presentations.

Still stuck

If you upgraded and a control still shows the chip after a refresh, contact us from the help button in the bottom-right corner of HoldFast (the Support tab). Include which setting and which page, and we will sort it from our side.

Questions

Which plan do I need for passwords and expiry on links?

Pro. Both unlock at Pro, alongside download control, custom branding, watermarks, and email gates on presentations. See the password guide for how the gate behaves once it is on.

Do my clients ever see these lock chips?

No. Chips appear only inside your workspace. A reviewer or viewer on one of your links sees the finished page and none of the plan machinery.
