Run a Spokesperson Fit test

Which on-camera talent holds people for the same script, and the one condition that makes the answer mean anything.

Updated

Two presenters, one script. This set tells you which of them held the room, provided you built the test so the answer can be about them.

What it measures

The primary question is a 1 to 7 rating of how much the person on camera made someone want to keep listening, and the verdict is decided on the average for each version. Relatability rides underneath as a diagnostic. The card labels this set as built from measurement principles rather than drawn from a specific body of research.

What people are asked

  • "How much did the person on camera make you want to keep listening?" on a 1 to 7 scale from "Not at all" to "A great deal". This is the question the verdict rests on.
  • "How relatable was the presenter?" on a 1 to 7 scale from "Not at all" to "Very relatable".
  • "How did the presenter come across?" in their own words.

When to pick it

Pick this when you are casting: two creators, two reads, two people delivering the same words. Skip it when more than the talent differs between versions, because a script change or a different edit leaks straight into the score and the answer stops being about the person. If believability rather than presence is the question, Trust and Credibility is the sharper set. For a broad read across everything at once, Creative Comparison is the quick option.

What the verdict looks like

A winner on the keep-listening rating needs both groups at the size committed at launch, balanced dropout, and a gap clear of chance. Otherwise a directional advantage or "too close to call". See Understanding your verdict.

What it cannot tell you

This set isolates talent only when talent is the only variable. Different words, a different location, a different length, or a different grade all confound it, and the report cannot separate what you did not separate at the edit. Keep everything else matched: see Preparing a fair test. It also cannot tell you how a presenter wears over a campaign, since every answer follows a single viewing.
