Organize a project with folders

Nested folders, drag-and-drop moves, and the difference between deleting a folder and deleting what is in it.

Updated

Folders live inside a project and nest as deep as your structure needs: shoot days inside episodes, selects inside shoot days. If your drive is organized, your project can match it, and a watch folder will even recreate the structure for you on upload.

Create and manage folders

Click + Add, then New Folder. Every folder card has a ... menu with three actions:

  • Rename the folder.
  • Delete Folder removes the folder but keeps its contents, which move up a level.
  • Delete Folder + Contents removes both. The menu says so in plain words, so the two deletes are never a guess.

Move assets

Two ways. Drag an asset onto a folder card, or select several assets and pick a destination from the move menu. Selections work across pages of a large project, so a bulk re-file is one pass, not twenty.

Find your way back

The breadcrumb at the top shows the folder path you are standing in. Click any level to jump back. For finding things across folder lines, tags and search cut across the structure without disturbing it.

Questions

What happens to assets when I delete a folder?

Your choice, stated on the menu. Delete Folder keeps the contents and moves them up a level. Delete Folder + Contents removes the assets too.

How deep can folders nest?

Folders nest inside folders as far as your structure needs. The breadcrumb at the top always shows the full path, and any level in it is one click back.
