Add a new version

Three entry points, all ending the same place: the new file becomes the version that plays, and every link you already sent serves it.

There are three ways to put a new cut on an existing asset. They all end the same place: the file uploads, becomes the active version, and everything that shares the asset starts serving it.

Drag the file onto the tile

In the project view, drag the re-export straight onto the asset's tile. A highlight ring appears, the file goes on with no dialog, and a toast confirms what is now playing, named by filename: "Updated, now serving BreweryFilm_1.mp4." This is the fastest path and the default habit worth building.

Right-click the tile

Right-click the asset's tile and choose New Version.... This opens a dialog where you pick the file and decide whether it goes live immediately. Untick Make live now to stage a draft instead.

From the asset page

On the asset's own page, use the New Version button. Same dialog, same choice.

What happens next

The upload runs in the background and the new version starts optimizing. It becomes the one that plays at every review link, reel, and embed that carries this asset, and the previous version stays in Version History, labelled by its filename, in case you need to roll back. Reviewers browsing a link see nothing new in any version list: visibility is a separate, deliberate switch covered in Publish a cut.
