Invite unlimited client reviewers without buying seats

The people who watch and comment never need an account or a seat. Seats count only the teammates who sign in and work inside your workspace.

Billing by the person works until the third stakeholder appears on a Thursday, and the answer to "can you add my colleague" becomes a purchasing conversation. HoldFast draws that line somewhere else, and the line is structural rather than promotional: it follows from who has an account.

Watching and commenting never needs an account

Everyone who receives your work opens it without signing up for anything. Clients, agency reviewers, brand stakeholders, the legal reader who appears once and never again: they click, watch, leave notes at exact timecodes, draw on the frame, and approve the cut. No account, no seat, no license, no request to your admin, and no ceiling on how many of them there are.

That holds across all three of the surfaces you send outward: review links for feedback and sign-off, reels for a branded page of finished work, and presentations for a deck. None of them ask the recipient to create anything.

Seats are for your own team

A seat is one thing only: a teammate who signs in to your workspace and works inside it, uploading, organizing, building links, reading analytics. That is the population a plan counts, and each plan carries a ceiling on it at one flat price. Your fifth member costs what your first did.

So "how many seats do we need" has a smaller answer here than you are used to giving. Count the people who log in. Do not count the people you send work to, because they are not in that number and never will be. Do the math against what you pay today

Worth ten minutes. Open the billing page of whichever review tool you pay for now, and sort the names into two piles:

1. People who log in and work. Editors, producers, assistants, the person who builds the links.
2. People who only watch and comment. Clients, reviewers, approvers, the executive who appears at the end.

Per-seat tools price the first pile by the head: every teammate you add moves the bill. Most of them let the second pile watch a shared link for free, right up until someone needs more than a link. The moment a client has to be invited into the project itself, even with comment-only access, they typically become a paid seat. Here the line never moves: the first pile is covered by one flat plan price, the second is unlimited on every plan, Free included, and nobody crosses from one pile to the other by being given more to do.

What reviewers get without a seat

Not a stripped-down guest mode. The reviewer surface is the real one: timecoded comments, drawings on the frame, threaded replies, resolve, the version rail when you publish more than one cut, downloads when you turn them on, and a recorded approval with their name on it.

Once someone leaves a name and email on a link they appear under the Reviewers tab in Settings → Team, outside your seat count, so you can see who has been reviewing without paying for the privilege. Adding your own team is a separate job, covered in Invite and manage your team.
