Run an Ad-vs-Organic Feel test
Whether people read the work as content or as advertising, scored as the share who lean organic and told in their own words why.
On a social feed, reading as an ad is a cost. This set measures whether people file your work under content or under advertising.
What it measures
The primary question runs across seven answers from "Definitely an ad" to "Definitely regular content", and the verdict is decided on the share of people who landed on one of the three organic-leaning answers. A rate, not an average. The card labels this set as built from measurement principles rather than drawn from a specific body of research.
What people are asked
- "Did this feel more like an ad or like regular content?" across those seven answers. This is the question the verdict rests on.
- "What made it feel that way?" in their own words.
The second question is where the craft note lives. People name the tell: the grade, the music, a line reading, a logo landing a beat too early.
When to pick it
Pick this when native feel is the goal and the versions differ in polish, framing, or treatment. Skip it when a polished ad look is what you want, because a low organic score is then a success and the test has nothing to say. If the question is whether the piece feels believable rather than whether it feels advertised, use Trust and Credibility. If it is whether the target sees themselves in it, that is Audience Fit.
What the verdict looks like
A winner on the organic-lean rate is named only when both groups reached the size committed at launch, dropout was balanced, and the gap stands clear of chance. Otherwise a directional advantage, or "too close to call". See Understanding your verdict.
What it cannot tell you
Organic feel is not always desirable, and this set has no opinion about that: it reports how the piece was read, not whether being read that way helps you. Read the result as directional. It also cannot tell you how the piece would be received in a real feed, where a paid label, a handle, and everything around it change the reading before anyone watches a frame.
