Attach files to comments

Feedback with receipts: pin the storyboard frame, the right logo file, or the brief page directly to the note at the timecode it belongs to.

Pro

Updated

"Make it look like the reference" only works when the reference is attached. Comments in HoldFast take files, so the note and its evidence travel together.

Attach one

While writing a comment (on a review link or on the internal asset page), add the file to the comment before posting. The attachment rides with the note at its timecode, and anyone reading the thread can open it in place.

Attachments cap at 10 MB per file, which comfortably covers stills, board frames, logo files, and brief pages.

What belongs in an attachment

  • The storyboard frame the shot should match.
  • The correct logo file, attached to the note pointing at the wrong one.
  • The brand page from the deck, pinned to the color note at 0:42.

What deserves more than an attachment

A reference video worth scrubbing belongs in the project as its own asset, where it gets the full player. And when the file IS the fix (a corrected export), that is a new version, not a comment.

Questions

How big can an attachment be?

Up to 10 MB per file, on every plan. That covers reference images, brief pages, and short documents; for a whole video reference, upload it as an asset instead.

Who can see an attachment?

Everyone who can see the comment: your team on the asset page, and reviewers on the link when comments are enabled.
