Tag your library

Tags cut across folders: label a clip by client, status, or location once, then pull every match across every project in two clicks.

Updated

Folders answer "where does this live." Tags answer "what is this," and one asset can be many things at once: a drone shot, approved, client X. Tags are how you pull every match across every project without reorganizing anything.

Tag an asset

Open the asset and click Tags to open the tag sidebar. Type to add: autocomplete suggests existing tags as you type, so "Approved" stays one tag instead of four spellings, and a new name creates a new tag on the fly. Remove a tag from the same sidebar.

Group tags into categories

Categories ("Client", "Status", "Location") keep a growing tag set browsable. Create them from the Asset View sidebar on the Dashboard, then assign tags to a category as you add them.

Bulk tagging

Select multiple assets and use bulk tag to apply tags to the whole selection at once. Tag the day's selects "Approved" in one action instead of thirty.

Where tags pay off

The Asset View filters your entire workspace by tag, with multiple tags narrowing the result. Tags also match in search. A light habit (client, status, maybe location) is enough for both to feel instant.

Questions

What is a tag category for?

Grouping. "Client", "Status", and "Location" as categories keep fifty tags browsable in the Asset View sidebar instead of one long alphabetical pile.

Can I tag many assets at once?

Yes. Select multiple assets and use bulk tag to apply the same tags to the whole selection in one action.
