Use the importer with an existing workspace

Two ways to point the importer at a workspace you already have: sign in with your email, or paste an access token.

Already have a HoldFast workspace? You do not need a new account. The importer has two ways to connect to the one you have.

Sign in with your email

At the Connect your HoldFast account step, enter the email of your existing account. The app recognises it and asks for your password to log in. After you log in, you pick which workspace to import into, or create a fresh one, and the move lands there.

This is the path to use when you want your Vimeo library to land in a workspace you already work in, next to the projects and links you already have.

Paste an API token

If you would rather connect with a token, open Already have a HoldFast workspace? Use an API token at the bottom of the account step. Paste an access token from your workspace and choose Connect.

You create the token in HoldFast under Settings, then API and MCP. The token is shown once when you make it, so copy it then. Paste it into the importer and you are connected to that workspace.

Which to use

• Signing in on your own Mac? The email and password path is the direct one.
• Automating, or connecting a workspace you administer without a password prompt? Use an API token.

Where your library lands

However you connect, the destination follows the choice you made earlier: your recreated Vimeo folders, or the single project you picked. Because you are importing into an existing workspace, your storage plan is the one that workspace is already on, so check you have room first with See what is using your storage.
