When you open the importer, a Vimeo window opens and you sign in there yourself, in a window kept to vimeo.com. HoldFast never sees your password. Your Vimeo cookies stay in an isolated space on your Mac and only ever talk to Vimeo. The app reads only the library your own session can see, which is the whole point of doing this on your machine.

Why that matters for private videos
