Brand a reel

Set a brand kit once and every reel you publish carries your logo, your colours, and a link back to your site.

A reel carries your name to the person who might hire you, so it should look like it came from you, not from a video host. In HoldFast, reel branding flows from your brand kit: build it once in Settings, set it as the default, and every reel you publish wears it automatically. No per-reel colour pickers to keep in sync, and nothing to re-send when the brand evolves.

Build the kit once

In Settings, find Brand Kits and click + New Brand Kit. A kit holds everything the public page needs:

  • Colors: Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background, and Text.
  • Typography: a Body Font and a Heading Font.
  • Logo, Logo Mark, and Favicon: the full logo for page headers, a square mark for compact player spots, and the browser-tab icon.
  • Company Website: logos on your public reels and review links click through to this URL.

The Preview panel shows the combination as you edit. Click Save Brand Kit, then use the star to Set as default: the kit wearing the Default badge is the one your reels pick up.

What the kit changes on a reel

On the published page, your logo sits in the header and clicks through to your Company Website. The Background colour fills the page edge to edge, and the kit's text and Accent colours carry the title, the filmstrip, and the player controls. Link previews in Slack and email lead with the first clip's thumbnail, with your kit logo as the fallback.

The page's type stays DM Sans, HoldFast's screening-room face. And nothing breaks without a kit: a reel falls back to your workspace logo, then to the neutral HoldFast look, so a day-one workspace still ships a clean page.

Editing the kit updates live reels

The page reads the kit each time a viewer opens it. Update the logo or a colour and every reel using that kit is current on its next load: no re-publish, no new links to send.

Next: shape how the page plays in Display & Playback, or put the reel on your own site with Embed a reel on your website.

Questions

Can a single reel use its own colours or custom CSS?

Not from the editor today. The public page honors per-reel overrides, including a custom stylesheet loaded after the kit styles, but the editor does not expose controls for them yet, so the brand kit is the lever that ships. If a one-off look is blocking you, tell us from the Support tab; the use cases steer what gets built.

Which plan do brand kits need?

Custom branding unlocks on Pro. On Free, reels publish with your workspace logo on the neutral HoldFast look, and the Brand Kits section in Settings shows a Pro chip.
