Recreate your Vimeo folders in HoldFast

Rebuild your Vimeo folder tree in HoldFast, or send everything to one project. Your choice of shape, made once and never locked.

When your videos land in HoldFast, you decide how they are organised. The importer offers two shapes at the Where should these live? step.

Recreate my Vimeo folders

This is the recommended choice. HoldFast rebuilds the same folder names and nesting you have on Vimeo, as projects and folders, so everything stays where you expect it. If you have spent years arranging your Vimeo library, this keeps that work intact. The app shows a small preview of the tree it will build before you commit.

If your Vimeo account has no folders, this option is unavailable and the app tells you so; use the single-project choice instead.

Put everything in one project

This sends the whole selection into one project you pick. Choose an existing project, or create a new one right there, and optionally a folder inside it. It suits a flat library, or a case where you want a clean slate and plan to reorganise inside HoldFast afterward.

Which to choose

• Keep a considered folder structure? Recreate my Vimeo folders.
• Have a loose or shallow library, or want a fresh arrangement? Put everything in one project.

Either way, this choice only affects organisation. It is separate from how the videos move, which is the next step. Nothing here changes what comes across; it only changes where it sits.

Reorganise after the fact
