How the importer picks your plan

You never pick a plan. The importer reads the size of your selection and sets up the account that fits, free or two months of Pro at no cost.

You do not choose a plan in the importer. It reads the size of the videos you selected and picks the account that fits, so you never overpay and never hit a wall partway through the move.

Fits the free plan

If your selection fits the space a free HoldFast account holds (5 GB), the importer sets you up on the free plan. No card, free at that size. The account step says so plainly: your library fits the free plan.

Larger than free: two months of Pro

If your selection needs more room than free holds, your account starts on Pro at no cost for two months. There is no card required and nothing to cancel later; the two months are on us so your whole library has somewhere to land. The account step shows this as two months of Pro, on us.

Activating Pro later

Say you start on the free plan, then come back to move more and run out of room. You do not have to leave the app. When your selection is larger than the space left in your plan, the importer offers Activate two months of Pro right there, and the transfer continues once it is active. If you have already used the two months, the app points you to add storage or move up a plan in HoldFast instead.

What counts toward your space

Only the source videos you move count toward your storage. The streaming copies HoldFast makes for playback cost you nothing. If a move would run past your limit, the import pauses and tells you rather than failing quietly, so you can free space or add room and pick up where it stopped.
