Set a review link to expire

Give a link a shelf life: pick a preset or a custom date and the page, video, and downloads all go dark together.

Updated

In the link's settings under Access Control, set Expires at: choose 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, or pick a custom date and time. When the moment passes, the whole link stops serving. Page, video, comments, and downloads go dark together, so there is nothing to remember to revoke.

Set the date

From Review Links, open your link, find Expires at under Access Control, pick the date, and click Save Changes. When you create a link, the same control appears as Expires (optional) in the New Review Link dialog.

An expiry turns "here is the cut for this week's review" into a promise the link keeps for you, instead of a URL that quietly stays live in an inbox for a year.

What your reviewer sees afterwards

An expired link does not drop anyone onto a broken player or a blank error. The visitor gets a clean page that says This review link has expired, names you as the sender, and offers a pre-filled email asking you for a fresh link. If they still need access, that is your cue to push the date out, on your terms rather than by accident.

Extend, shorten, or clear it

The expiry is a setting on the link, not something baked into the files. Push the date out a week, pull it in, or clear it entirely, then save. The URL never changes, so the same address starts working again the moment you extend it.

If you want the link gone right now instead of on a schedule, flip the Active toggle off instead: see Turn a review link off.

Questions

Do comments disappear when a link expires?

No. An expired link stops serving the page, video, data, and downloads together, but every comment stays on the asset inside HoldFast. Push the expiry date out or send a fresh link and the feedback is still there.
