Move your Vimeo library to HoldFast
The whole path from a Vimeo library to a tracked, brandable HoldFast archive, with the transfer running on its own while you step away.
This is the whole path, from a Vimeo library to a tracked, brandable archive in HoldFast. Set aside a few minutes to make the choices; the transfer itself runs on its own and you can walk away.
1. Sign in to Vimeo
Open the importer and choose Open Vimeo sign-in. A Vimeo window opens and you complete the sign-in yourself. HoldFast never sees your password. The app then reads your library while a spinner shows it working.
2. Choose your videos
Every video appears with its real size, grouped by folder. Tick the ones you want, or use Select all. The filter box narrows a long list by name or folder, and a running count shows how much you have picked.

3. Decide where they land
Pick Recreate my Vimeo folders to rebuild the same folder names and nesting as projects and folders in HoldFast, or Put everything in one project to send the whole selection to a single project. Full detail is in Recreate your Vimeo folders in HoldFast.
4. Decide how they move
Straight to HoldFast pulls most videos directly from Vimeo and stores nothing on your Mac. Also keep a copy on this Mac saves each original to a folder you choose as well. The trade-offs are in Straight to HoldFast, or keep a copy on your Mac.
5. Connect your HoldFast account
Create an account, or sign in to one you already have. The plan is chosen for you from the size of your selection, covered in How the importer picks your plan.
6. Start the import
Confirm the summary and choose Start import. Each video shows its own status: waiting for a transfer slot, transferring from Vimeo, then finishing up. You can pause, resume, and retry, and tick the box to be emailed when everything is imported and processed.
Live per-video progress. Leave it in the background and it keeps going.
A big library takes a while, and that is fine. Anything interrupted picks up where it left off, so you can close the app and come back to it.
