Send a new cut without breaking the link

Upload the revision onto the same asset and the link your client already has plays the new cut. No new URL, no lost feedback.

When notes come back, do not make a new link. Upload the fixed export as a new version of the same asset: the moment it goes live, every review link carrying that asset plays the new cut, at the same URL your client already has.

Upload the new version

Open the asset and go to its Versions tab, then click Upload new version and pick the file. (The New Version button in the asset header is the quick path: it uploads and goes live in one step.)

The filename is the label your client will see and reference, so name the export the way you talk about it. HoldFast never invents V1 / V2 numbers for you: the name in your editing app is the name here.

Make it live now, or stage it as a draft

Next to Upload new version sits a Make live now checkbox.

• Ticked (the default): the new cut starts playing on your links as soon as it is ready.
• Unticked: it uploads as a draft that nobody sees until you click Make active on it. That is the overnight workflow: upload the render at midnight, watch it yourself in the morning, then flip it live before the client wakes up.

Feedback stays where it was left

Every comment and approval is stamped with the version it was made on. Notes on the old cut do not smear onto the new file, and the new cut starts with a clean slate. The earlier feedback is still there, one version switch away.

Roll back in one click

If the new cut is wrong, open the Versions tab and click Make active on the earlier version. Same URL, previous cut, done.
